Bio

Nic has worked internationally and in the UK in healthcare, local and central government, as Director of Corporate for the North Sea Transition Authority she leads an award-winning diverse team delivering services in data, information and digital solutions to enable strategic decisions.

She led a team to launch the National Data Repository, a UK first providing open data to encourage use of innovative technologies enabling the search for carbon storage sites and supporting offshore windfarm priorities. As Chair of the Offshore Energy Digital and Data Strategy Taskforce Nic launched the Digitalising Offshore Energy Systems strategy to digitally unite the offshore energy sectors and chairs the Offshore Energy Digital Strategy Group. In 2021 she was a finalist for the DigiLeaders Digital Leader of the Year, was included in the ComputerWeekly longlist of Most Influential Women in UK Tech in 2022 and 2023 and in the 2023 CIO100 list.

I am a co-founder of Open Life Science, a mentoring and training programme that empowers researchers to gain an understanding of open science principles, build collaborations with experts and adopt best practices in the context of their communities.
