Shane Miller
Founding Chair of the Rust Foundation
“This year, open source software awareness reached well beyond the tech industry into tier one press and proposals from international policy makers, and 2023 will be a year defined by rules and regulations that demand end-to-end accountability from software vendors using open source to build and deliver their own products. In response to that challenge (and opportunity), in 2023, the tech industry is going to experience an explosion of startups and products racing to fill today’s gaps in the security, reliability, and sustainability of critical open source software. Those innovations will begin to improve the open source experience for maintainers, users, and end consumers.”
