Ron Efroni

Ron is the CEO and co-founder of Flox and serves as President of the NixOS Foundation, where he’s dedicated to bringing Nix to the global developer community. Ron’s journey began in the elite technical units of the IDF (8200), first as a software engineer and later leading the development of large-scale field-operated products. After his service, Ron founded his first company to tackle the many-to-many traveling salesman problem in school transportation, aiming to make student travel safer and more accessible.

Later, he moved into the world of developer tooling at Meta (Facebook), heading the developer products team that supported a 20,000-person engineering organization. Recognizing the limitations of existing tools and the potential of Nix, Ron co-founded Flox alongside Michael Brantley to make Nix more accessible across the broader developer ecosystem.

In his role as President of the NixOS Foundation, Ron guides key initiatives that strengthen and support Nix’s global community. He also leads INTRO, the largest Israeli tech community in California, as its president. Ron now lives in California with his wife Eden and their slightly oversized half Bernese Mountain Dog, Baka.
