Dave started his open data journey in 2012, working as technical lead to release data at Bath and North East Somerset Council, also participating in the open data community at Bath:Hacked.

Dave is an advocate for public libraries, as the originators in open knowledge. He is founder of Libraries Hacked, a project to promote open data in libraries.

In 2022 Libraries Hacked won the data award at the OpenUK awards, and Dave was nominated in the Individual category.

Dave currently works for Geovation, helping new startups with data and technology to innovate and create positive impact.
